Crib is the place where your baby will sleep so the safety of the crib is an important aspect in monitoring and maintaining the crib. The mattress should be very firmly and tightly fixed this will avoid baby the getting entrapped amidst the crib and the mattresses.

Cribs that are misassembled or properly not assemble have high risk of suffocation so it is better to avoid this and parents should call the manufacturers if they have any concern or questions about the crib. The missing of broken, loose uninstalled screws, brackets and other hard ware may result in suffocation death. There should be any cut outs either on the foot board or on the headboard, so that the baby’s head will never be ensnared.

In case of mish sided pens and or play pens you can follow other safety measures. Mesh must be ¼” or even lesser and also it must be little smaller rather when compared to the buttons on the baby clothing’s. Usually a baby gets trapped when the mesh doesn’t have holes, tears, and slack threads. Mesh strongly fixed to the top bar and bottom plates. The top rail binding doesn’t contain tears or any holes.

Parents should use crib mobiles and other accessories very carefully. You should never use plastic bags as the mattress because this may cause suffocation and usage of natural mattress is preferred. Sleepers should be used instead of blankets. Baby’s head remnants exposed all through sleep because this may cause respiratory disease. Never place your baby on a sofa, waterbed, soft mattress and soft surfaces for sleeping.
